Handling traffic load to your website/blog

We all know any website or blog owner always dream to get a significant amount of traffic to his/her website. The owner of site try many option to get that traffic to his/her website. But as soon as his/her website start becoming popular, huge traffic to your site cause your website or blog to get crash. Your website is not able to handle that much of traffic load.

If you notice every Bank website like SBI, ICICI, HDFC etc try to increase the customer every time, and everything now days is online, registration any transaction , money transfer each and everything. That means increase in Bank business also increasing load on bank website. Any News channel website, when something notable news come in existence website traffic increase tremendously. That rapid increase in traffic/visits to your website can cause crash your website but you will notice, during high traffic such business, risk based critical websites maintains their traffic in well mannered way. No doubt there is a team of professionals, which is managing all these things. But question arises in our mind how they do that, at-least we can should know what basic things we can do to manage heavy traffic. I'll not go in depth but at-least give a brief introduction of solutions...

Setup the advanced hardware to handle traffic but this thing comes under the where is your website is hosted. the website owner can't do anything with Hardware side, so we discuss only things which comes under website owner's boundaries.

As a web developer, I can suggest 2 things.

First, you can use a cloud service for external objects for ur website, like images, css and javascript files and call them...

Second, create a light weight version of your website, which has no images or flash on website. Specially the Home page of your website should light weighted because only Home page is the most requested page all the time.

Suggest if have any other ways to tackle huge traffic, your suggestions are welcome...

Microsoft ending Support for Windows XP

If you are habitual of using Windows XP and find Windows XP very user friendly then there is a bad News for Windows XP users, Microsoft is ending support for Windows XP from 8th April 2014.

Windows XP  work after that but you will not get any updates for Windows XP and also for Microsoft Security Essential. So, if there is no updates for XP, then your computer will be vulnerable for threats like viruses, Malwares, Trojans etc.

Second, Microsoft providing up-gradation to Windows 8 in some countries, So you are lucky if you are getting free upgrade. But still there is a problem Windows XP works well on low configuration computers, but up-gradation need higher configuration. So ultimately these systems are going to scrap.

This means the time has come when you can through your old PC to dustbin and purchase a new one. If you can upgrade your existing PC then that will be the best thing, at-least you can run Windows 7 on that PC. otherwise Microsoft has declared that old computers that can't run Windows 8, you can shop for new one, really great to increase sale.

Good news for the companies but who became the fool, obviously the user.

Developer v/s Tester

Software Development is a systematic process includes Feasibility Study, Requirement Analysis, Design, Coding, Testing and Implementation & maintenance. Throughout the Software development so many ppl work on the project as a team but two most key player who cm in to view are Developer and Tester.

Requirement gathering designing are the basic things which r necessarily flawless that's why software development required a Team but Developer and Tester have their own importance.

Now i m going to compare these two Team Players.

Often a battle of many rounds, the tester is seen as the anti-developer, with the developer standing for creation and the tester the destroyer of the developers work.

A Developer when start coding, he think most abt the code should fulfill the functionality. Developer think a very little abt Quality of Software.

When an application works well all credit goes to developers, not the testers but when an application doesn't work well having lots of bugs, every one blame testers, not the developers.

A developer can't be a gud tester because he never think abt flaws in his code. That's why most of the companies recruit testers.

A developer need not to understand the requirement from the basic but he need to understand the part of it and write the code to develop the application. But to test that application tester needs to understand all the requirements what a end user required.

The developers mind set is one of creation whereas the tester is one of destruction.

These two r complementary to each other..

Company, Employee and Recession

As all of us knows that the IT sector most affected with the recession..

As an employee i want to put my sm point to all of u..

When a company does well, its CEO will address the entire company saying,""well done guys, it is YOUR company, keep up the hard work, I am with you."" But when the slowdown happens and the company does not do so well, the same CEO will say, ""It is MY company and to save the company, I have to take tough decisions including asking people to go.""

Every Company first think about itself not abt the employees, in that scenario what should an employee do??

Employee must think abt his/her personal/financial growth.. finacial stability and his abt his/her family first.. or stick with company for hope they do best with u...???

Love ur job, not the company because when ur company stop loving u, u dont know.. Think about company with ur personal growth/benefits.

If smone say company laid off employees because they were low performers, i m totally disagree with it, i saw many person lost job, but they were the gud performers and they lost job because the company want to cut the cost.

These laid off is done in a special manner or smthing similar or different from company to company, when they reached office in morning they were not aware of that company is going to fire them today... they all were called in conference room, they were provided by the termination letter with concession against job without any notice, their access cards were took back from them, sent them after meeting to direct for their corresponding cabs, n their personal belongings provided to them from their desk to their cabs n said gud luck for future.

Company wants to check employee loyalty to company, but ever an employee can ask for company loyalty to himself.

So, no one can change this process so we hv to live in this IT world with this ugly truth.

Google's go : A new Programming Language

A good news for the developers is that Google just announced the new open source programming language called Go. I write before in my blog google is always produce such things which are useful for their users.. This time Software Developers are the Hey users... and Go is sounding gud with its features...
I again say , google must develop an Operating System also..may be it is in the row.... let us see..
The key features of Go are...
1>It is simple to write and understand by any level of developer....
2>It is fast to run..fast compilation and execution..gud performance
3>It is secure,,
4>u can run concurrently many programs without any trouble...
5>It has all gud features of dynamic language and speed and performance of static language..
6>But obvious the best feature is that it is open source...

Here's how Google describes Go in its blog post:
Go attempts to combine the development speed of working in a dynamic language like Python with the performance and safety of a compiled language like C or C++. In our experiments with Go to date, typical builds feel instantaneous; even large binaries compile in just a few seconds. And the compiled code runs close to the speed of C. Go is designed to let you move fast.
We're hoping Go turns out to be a great language for systems programming with support for multi-processing and a fresh and lightweight take on object-oriented design, with some cool features like true closures and reflection.
For more information please visit  http://golang.org

I must say..Google is the Best...
