Digitization of Cable TV : facts

India is going in phase of digitization of Cable connection, first they digitization was mandatory in major cities, but now they are making it compulsory for all.

In first phase, in all four metro cities implemented by 31st December 2011.
in second phase, implemented in all cities having population over 1Million by 31st December 2012.
in third phase, all other urban areas by 31st December 2013.
The 4th Phase, Targeting Rest of the India by 31December 2015.

Development and growth are always good, but making digitization compulsory, Govenment should see the other side of it too.

These DTH Service providers, revised the rates of any pack frequently, when ask to them, they told they have added new channel to packs. This is not done, when digitization is going to be compulsory, there should be some rule and protocol to monitor these service provider, There should be Minimal Value Pack available(From Each DTH Service Provider), which can be affordable by all, Rate Revision should have some rules, when they can revise the rate  ie some duration, but base pack should not have this eligibility, In Base Pack there should be some numbers of channels of all categories. DTH Service providers can have authority to add new channel to this base pack but can revise its rate.

What about those who cannot afford setup box, and monthly charges increase twice or trice for what they have paid currently to our cable service provider, Is this fits for all in their budget? If not, what they do, stop watching TV, Is government has a plan for this?

That means increase in Bank business also increasing load on bank website. Any News channel website, when something notable news come in existence website traffic increase tremendously. That rapid increase in traffic/visits to your website can cause crash your website but you will notice, during high traffic such business, risk based critical websites maintains their traffic in well mannered way. No doubt there is a team of professionals, which is managing all these things. But question arises in our mind how they do that, at-least we can should know what basic things we can do to manage heavy traffic. I'll not go in depth but at-least give a brief introduction of solutions...

Setup the advanced hardware to handle traffic but this thing comes under the where is your website is hosted. the website owner can't do anything with Hardware side, so we discuss only things which comes under website owner's boundaries.

As a web developer, I can suggest 2 things.

First, you can use a cloud service for external objects for ur website, like images, css and javascript files and call them...

Second, create a light weight version of your website, which has no images or flash on website. Specially the Home page of your website should light weighted because only Home page is the most requested page all the time.

Suggest if have any other ways to tackle huge traffic, your suggestions are welcome...

iBall smartphone was lacking in design, Camera, flash and

No doubt iBall is improving, In this device they improved their design but about Camera and Flash I'm not sure. hopefully they improved their camera quality and flash quality. In previous phone flash is below average.

I find this phone a budget phone with lots of feature, mid price range of 11K to 12k,  price will be drop sure in few months. iBall really going to compete with Samsung, LG, NOKIA, Sony in next few years.

Just one thing I don't like about this phone, that is battery capacity, which is really disappointed me, for 5" display at-least 2000mAh battery needed for rum for 12 hrs easily. So you are looking for good featured phone and battery capacity is not an issue for you, iBall Andi 5T Cobalt2 will be the better option for you.

Microsoft ending Support for Windows XP

If you are habitual of using Windows XP and find Windows XP very user friendly then there is a bad News for Windows XP users, Microsoft is ending support for Windows XP from 8th April 2014.

Windows XP  work after that but you will not get any updates for Windows XP and also for Microsoft Security Essential. So, if there is no updates for XP, then your computer will be vulnerable for threats like viruses, Malwares, Trojans etc.

Second, Microsoft providing up-gradation to Windows 8 in some countries, So you are lucky if you are getting free upgrade. But still there is a problem Windows XP works well on low configuration computers, but up-gradation need higher configuration. So ultimately these systems are going to scrap.

This means the time has come when you can through your old PC to dustbin and purchase a new one. If you can upgrade your existing PC then that will be the best thing, at-least you can run Windows 7 on that PC. otherwise Microsoft has declared that old computers that can't run Windows 8, you can shop for new one, really great to increase sale.

Good news for the companies but who became the fool, obviously the user.

Facebook buys whatsapp for $19 million - a smart move

Whatsapp is widely used popular app for mobile for instant messaging, which is free for 1st year. There are millions of users of this small app all over the world. I think, after Facebook Whatsapp is the second largest medium by which people connect with each other.

Now Facebook taking over Whatsapp, a world leader in instant mobile messaging service over the internet, for $19 millions.

I must say Facbook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg took a smart decision. Whatsapp is an app which used by  8 person out of 10 now days.

Is this takeover affect the cost paid to Whatsapp by the user, will it increase or decrease? Time will tell the but this type of takeover always good for the user and the company. Lets hope for the best.

This is my 50th post on this blog.

Cool featured Smartphone and Low capacity Battery

Now days, many mobile phone companies launched, lots of smartphones with lots of features in affordable price, but in hurry we forgot that battery on which that smartphone is running not enough sufficient, it should run the smartphone for at least 12hrs, so in our working hours (day time) you need not a charger to charge your cell battery.

This low capacity battery problem is just a common problem even in branded companies smartphones. Samsung, HTC, LG etc. They provide high capacity battery in their high range smartphones only.

If you also feel bad for your smartphone just because of low capacity battery, then I'm suggesting you here fewer tips so that your smartphone run on battery for few more hours than its usual duration.

1) Bluetooth, Wi-fi, GPS use these 3 services only when you need them other wise keep them off. these services drain your smartphone battery very fast.

2) Brightness of your smartphone is an essential factor which consumes battery, so set your smartphone brightness to low or medium, or in auto mode.

3) Live wallpaper looks good but it causes battery to drain fast, so use normal wallpapers in dark colors.

4)  Phone Vibration is a good feature, in noisy place where you cant hear the ringtone, vibration alert you for any notification on your smartphone, but it also consume battery. So use different modes as per requirement.

5) Do not download any Power Saver App, if you smartphone providing you any inbuilt Power Saver App, than its OK otherwise do not install any other power saver app, this app consume battery for its uses.

6)  Close any app you were running properly, otherwise engage your smartphone RAM and also consume battery, because app is running in background.

7) Do not download useless apps, Disable or uninstall useless apps

8) Keep you screen time out low

9) Video and Camera uses also consume battery. So use it advisedly.

10) When battery is low and  you want to save battery for calls, turn off Mobile data, saves your battery.

11) When you are on the move, traveling by train or airplane after sometime either signals is not available or signal comes and go, in that case put your phone on flight Mode or Airplane Mode, searching for signal consumes battery rapidly. When you check your battery uses, most battery used by the signals.

12) Keep update your smartphone OS time to time for latest version.

If you have purchased a smartphone whose battery capacity is low then use these tips to get satisfied with your smartphone with coll features, but if you are thinking about buying a smartphone  then think twice about battery capacity of that smartphone, keep battery capacity in consideration along with the feature in smartphone before go buy for it.

Hope you will like this post, please like and share if you find it useful and interesting...

In next post I'll tell you what minimum things you should check while you are going to purchase a smartphone. Checklist to purchase a Smartphone.

Gmail : Error 502

Today Gmail is experienced some problem for half an hr. If you were already login it was showing unable to load chat, if you were trying to login, it was showing Error 502 . The server encountered a temporary error and could not complete your request.

It is very rare that any of Google's service goes down for long time. It is back now but still having problem in loading chat list. Chat is accessible from Google+. Gmail service is  interrupted again. it becomes freaky situation when Gmail goes down, lots of person uses Gmail as his/her primary account and use Gmail as everything on it. As i used to do always. But It's nothing to worry, because i believe that Google is there to take care of it and i have a lot of faith in Google. Every Online Service can get down for routine maintenance. So it is not a big deal.

Definitely Gmail service will back soon... I think it's back. let me check.
